Grantland Rice Stinks

Grantland Rice does suck, this guy just vomited all over his writing. “On the first play the fleet Crowley peeled off fifteen yards and the cloud from the west was now beginning to show signs of lightning and thunder.” What is this guy doing? A fifteen-yard play that doesn’t result in a score nearly never deserves mention, no one cares about the first play of the game unless it's a score. Rice managed to describe it in so many different words combined for a beautiful gibberish spiel.

"America will be okay until it runs out of African entries. ... We may have to comb Africa again for some winners." Along with his writing, Rice stereotyped black people as being top athletes. This guy stinks, or how Rice might say it: Grantland Rice ran through word counts with sophistication as he circled the point the reader cares about. His work is good practice for those interested in improving their abilities to read only for key details. The New York Herald Tribune surely had something better to use their inches of content on besides this over-sophisticated game summary.
